Bloodseeker v1.1

Hello everyone! This is my first devlog. Firstly, thank you so much for checking out my little game Bloodseeker! Here is a list of the update details, which may contain minor spoilers:

-Reduced Bat Queen’s health to intended value.

-Added telegraphing to the Weaver’s venom and web attacks.

-Added telegraphing to Frank’s charge attack and added a shocking new surprise attack.

-Modified the health of late game bosses and added at least one new attack per boss.

-Fixed the final boss, preventing the boss from being easily broken.

-Fixed many other small bugs.

-Added in a new ability: the Blood Arrow. This ability is a new mode of attack for the player. It is a powerful ranged attack that costs Blood, so now the player has more options during combat and must choose whether to spend Blood on healing or using Blood Arrow.

-Added a healing animation to create some risk vs reward to healing.

-Added two new types of environmental traps. One in the Laboratory and one in the Weaver’s Web.

-The Gravedigger can now be found in the Moonlit Gardens and the Catacombs.

-Added notes scattered around the castle, written by the vampire hunters who infiltrated the castle. These will add a bit of lore to the game.

-Added the Butler, an ally that greets you at the start and will give the player a run-down of their objective for the game: take the vampiric hearts of the countesses and use the power of the hearts to break the holy seal on the castle.

-Added the Undertaker and the tombstone mechanic. Tombstones can be found throughout the game. Once the player has acquired at least one tombstone, they can go to an Undertaker and engrave their tombstones. Engraving a tombstone will grant the player a passive ability. But if the player dies, their tombstones break and they must pay the Undertaker 100 souls to repair the tombstones.

-Added a new enemy type: Test Subject. Test Subjects can be found in the Laboratory. They are stronger variants of the Fledgling enemies that are found elsewhere in the castle. Be careful, when they die, the electricity stored within their bodies will erupt violently.

-Added a new enemy type: Royal Bats. These harmless bats are blue in color and are much more rare than the rest of their kin. You can find them throughout the castle. Killing a Royal Bat will cause the count to be empowered by their blue blood, which temporarily increases their maximum health. This extra health cannot be healed and will be removed upon resting or death.

-Added two more trophies.

-Added a secret boss. I challenge someone to beat this boss :)

-Added more interactive bells to the Silenced Cathedral’s belltower.

-Added Bloodlust mode. Once you beat the game, you will have access to Bloodlust mode, which will restart your game, but this time you only get 3 health and one life.

-Added Fang Charms. Collect 3 to increase your maximum Blood capacity.

-Modified prices of Dr. Stein and Igor’s services.

-Swapped the positions of some of the collectibles.

-Adjusted controls to allow for more responsive attacking.

-Added a few more secrets.

And that pretty much covers it all! I’m pretty happy with Bloodseeker after 3 weeks of working on it. I’m sure I’ll find little things to update and fix. I really hope you enjoy the game!
